IfKW at the ECREA Conferences

The Institute for Communication Science and Media Research (IfKW) regularly contributes to the conferences of the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA) – one of Europe’s leading associations for communication research and education.

ECREA brings together over 5,000 scholars from more than 80 countries. Organized into 25 thematic sections, 5 temporary working groups, and 3 permanent networks, it fosters diverse and emerging areas of communication research, from journalism and media effects to political communication and digital publics.

At the European Communication Conference (ECC), IfKW researchers present cutting-edge studies on topics such as media trust, science communication, platform dynamics, and democratic discourse. These contributions highlight the institute’s thematic breadth and its strong role in advancing international communication research.
